Slow Cooking Some Healthy Options!

Yesterday, I reviewed the Instant Pot as part of the countdown. It is a lifesaver in the kitchen for getting meals done quick and efficiently. On the flip side, sometimes our family needs solid, hearty meals that will fill everyone up with a high likelihood of leftovers for a multi-night meal. In those situations, I turn to my other trusty kitchen sidekick…

Coming in at #2 is the:

Slow Cooker ( 7 Quart Locking Lid Crock Pot )

It’s officially Black Friday!! My number #2 product is a classic family staple. The good ole slow cooker aka crock pot.

The best product for a mom struggling to find the time to cook is using a crock pot. This is your classic crock pot, but with upgraded bells and whistles. Programmable timers are a life saver! They let you set it and forget it until it’s done. This model even has a timer to set for when you want to eat, and it cooks it accordingly! Want to eat at 6:30pm? No problem!!

Different heat levels and versatile settings allow you to create the perfect comfort meal. The slow cooker is great for when you want juicy, tender meat options, but you’ll find there are so many healthy and fantastic recipes out there. It allows you to combine the ingredients, cover it up, set your timer, and go! This energy efficient time saver helps me create healthy, hearty family dinners while being on the go. You will appreciate coming home to the delightful aroma filling your house and a complete, ready to eat meal!

An underrated feature…the lid lock! I recently purchased this lid locking one after learning the hard way. I took a turn too fast and ended up cleaning chili out of the trunk of my car for the rest of the evening!

Ultimately, I chose the slow cooker as a favorite health and wellness product for all the reasons above, but mainly due to the convenience factor. It’s amazing, but something as simple as a crock pot has seen some impressive technological advances. This one has many of those features that you won’t regret. It’s now 29% off for Black Friday!! Personally, one of my favorite ways to use the slow cooker is cook a batch of chicken or beef to shred it for the week. These are great sources of protein and by slow cooking they become juicy and tender.  Use my mixer hack to break apart the slow cooked meat, and you’re able to divide up servings for the week to help hit your macro targets. It’s so easy to throw it on a salad, potato, rice or leave it cold and make a cold chicken salad.
