Why We Carb Cycle

Carb cycling is not a bike race between loaves of bread competing to see who can rise to the occasion.

Carb cycling is an intentional variation of carbohydrate intake that burns fat while properly supporting our hormones. We cycle our carb intake by eating a low amount of carbs on some days and eating higher amounts of carbs on others. With this type of cycle, we see fat loss, increased energy levels, and improvements in our overall body composition.

 

Our main purpose of carb cycling is to ensure we are supplying our bodies and brains with essential healthy fats while also teaching our bodies to become fat burners. With that, we also have another reason.  Within the FASTer Way, we don’t believe in deprivation. Participating in carb cycling allows for us to enjoy treats we love on occasion! We like to have “treats” on Saturdays which also happens to be when we pair our leg day workouts for the week.

 

When you are carb cycling every week, you ensure you are giving your body just what it needs.  However, you could be setting yourself up for a binge session if you haven’t consumed the appropriate blend of macronutrients.
